Coldplay "x and y"

Yes, it has leaked on the Web, nearly a month earlier than street date. I am listening to it right now. Judgement pending- but so far "Fix You" is my fav.

Al Fin Cayo! Felicidades a Search Block, Los Pepes, etc.

Just watched an A & E special on Pablo Escobar. I never actually knew how diabolical this man was. Not only did he mass-market cocaine to the world; causing an epidemic- he waged war on his own country and nearly succeeded. I was fascinated to learn that he had such control over the Colombian government that he actually convinced them to let him build HIS OWN PRISON (!) which was essentially a safehouse for his operations. His insurgents ended up being the only ones who could take him down. VERY interesting story.

To All-

I know a lot of you are struggling; as am I.
But good things are coming.
I can finally feel it.
It's been a long time coming...

(the discovery of my SSC has given me a positive outlook)

Goodbye...

On Friday I had to do something I have never done in my life before- say goodbye to someone whom I know I will never see again. I was fairly casual about it until the actual moment arrived. Then I seemed to leave my body and watch myself go through the actual situation. It was everything you'd think it would be- the wishing of good luck for my future, the reassurance that her life meant a lot to me, the regrets of getting old and dying, the talk of reuniting with ones that were already gone, the "I love you and goodbye" that rips your heart out.

Walking out of that room was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do.
At least I had the chance to finalize things, for once.

Estella was a diver and she would always drown

"...But you love her.
She'll only break your heart, it's a fact.
It's tragic; you're already in love with her.
And even though I warn you, even though I guarantee you, that the girl will hurt you terribly: you'll still pursue her.

Permanent
"So this is permanence, love's shattered pride
What once was innocence, turned on its side
Grey cloud hangs over me, marks every move
Deep in the memory of what once was love
Oh, how I realised how I wanted time
Put into perspective, tried so hard to find
Just for one moment I thought I'd found my way
Destiny unfolded, I watched it slip away
Excessive flashpoints, beyond all reach
Solitary demands for all I'd like to keep
Let's take a ride out, see what we can find
A valueless collection of hopes and past desires
I never realised the lengths I'd have to go
All the darkest corners of a sense I didn't know
Just for one moment I heard somebody call
Looked beyond the day in hand, there's nothing there at all
Now that I've realised how it's all gone wrong
Got to find some therapy, this treatment takes too long
Deep in the heart of where sympathy held sway
Got to find my destiny before it gets too late.."

Landed

"...The daily dramas she made from nothing
So nothing ever made them right
She liked to push me and talk me back down
Until I believed I was the crazy one, and in a way I guess I was...
But I opened my eyes and walked out the door
And the clouds came tumbling down
And it's bye-bye, goodbye I tried
Treading a sea of a troubled mind
Had to leave myself behind
Singing bye-bye, goodbye I tried
If you wrote me off I understand it
Because I've been on some other planet..."

Interpol, Arcade Fire to Release Exclusive Songs

>>Six Feet Under:
Everything Ends, Music from the HBO Original Series - Vol. 2

01 Nina Simone - "Feelin' Good"
02 Jem - "Amazing Life"
03 Phoenix - "Everything Is Everything"
04 Coldplay - "A Rush of Blood to the Head"
05 Sia - "Breathe Me"
06 Radiohead - "Lucky"
07 Irma Thomas - "Time is on My Side"
08 Bebel Gilberto - "Aganjœ (The Latin Project Remix Edit)"
09 Interpol - "Direction"
10 The Caesars - "(Don't Fear) The Reaper"
11 Death Cab for Cutie - "Transatlanticism"
12 The Arcade Fire - "Cold Wind"

This is a first for Interpol.
Before reading the following, let me preface by saying that they are indeed my favorite band,
and this is just objective criticism (sort of)..

Traditionally, they have not been very prolific with unreleased songs or B sides in the past-

So this comes as somewhat of a surprise.

Their bonus material in past times has mostly been in the form of remixes or "live" versions of released songs- if they did in fact record a song for this soundtrack I would be shocked (I am thinking it is a throwaway from the "Antics" Sessions).

Interestingly enough, the promos for this soundtrack that were sent out did NOT contain the new song. Was it recorded posthumously? Or to keep it off the P2P's? (for a while, at least)

Either way, it will be good to get some new music...

As for Arcade Fire, I like that band and look forward to any new music as well..

Also. "Transatlanticism" is an interesting choice. That song means a lot to me.
